YouTube Premium Family Plan Pakistan — Price & Activation

How a YouTube Premium family plan really works in Pakistan: the 6-member household rule, the 12-month switch limit, and what to buy if you are not eligible.
Almost every YouTube Premium question we get in the shop starts the same way: "family plan ka kya scene hai?" Someone saw a family plan advertised for a fraction of the individual price and wants to know if it works from Pakistan. The honest answer is that the family plan is a real, legitimate YouTube product — and that most people asking about it are not actually eligible for one.
This is a shopkeeper explaining the mechanics rather than selling you something, so let us start with how the plan actually works.
What a YouTube Premium family plan is
A family plan is one paid membership shared inside one household. One person buys it and becomes the family manager. The manager can invite up to 5 other members, so six people in total. Every member keeps their own Google account — their own watch history, their own subscriptions, their own playlists, their own recommendations. Nobody sees anybody else's viewing, and nobody has to share a password. That last part is why the family plan is genuinely better than buying one account and passing the login around.
There is also a family version of YouTube Music Premium, and the two usually come together on a Premium family plan.
The rules that actually have teeth
This is the part people skip, and it is the part that decides whether a family plan works for you. From YouTube's own help pages:
- Same residential address. Every member must live in the same household as the manager. Same country is not enough — the wording is household, not country.
- Same country, one Play country. The whole group also has to line up on one Google Play country and payments profile.
- Nobody can be in two families. A member who is already in another Google family group cannot join yours.
- One switch per year. You can only change to a different family group once every 12 months. If you left someone's group in March, you are not joining a new one until the next March.
- A 30-day check-in. YouTube runs an electronic household check periodically. If it cannot confirm that a member lives with the manager, Premium is paused for that member — they stay in the group, the ads come back.
- Standard Google accounts only. Google Workspace accounts cannot join a consumer family group. The manager must be 18 or older, members 13 or older.
Since 2025 that household check is enforced far more actively than before, and the emails people receive give them a short window to confirm the address or lose Premium. So the old trick of filling a family plan with cousins in three different cities is now a subscription that quietly stops working in the middle of the month.
Why people in Pakistan look for a family plan in the first place
Two reasons, and both are practical. First, YouTube's own local price is billed in PKR and needs a card that can pay an international recurring charge — the usual wall. Second, the family plan is per household, not per person, so a group of friends assumes the cost can be split six ways. That split only survives until the first household check.
If you genuinely live with the people you want on the plan — parents, siblings, a shared flat — go and buy the real family plan from YouTube directly. It is the cheapest per person, it is fully legitimate, and nobody can remove you from your own household. If you do not live with them, the plan is not built for you, and a resold "family slot" comes with a manager who can remove you at any time and a 12-month lock that stops you joining anything else afterwards.
What we actually sell for YouTube Premium
We do not sell family-manager seats, and we do not sell family invites that pretend to be one household. What the catalogue has are three straightforward listings:
| Listing | Price | Approx. PKR | How it arrives | Your own account |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube Premium account, 1 month | $2.95 | about ₨841 | instant — ready account with login details | no |
| YouTube Premium, 3 months | $3.00 | about ₨855 | instant, full warranty | redeem on the account you use |
| YouTube Premium, 3 months | $3.79 | about ₨1,080 | instant redeem code | redeem on the account you use |
PKR numbers are the dollar price at ₨285, which is the rate in the shop today. Prices move — trust the product page, not this table.
The redeem listings are the closest thing to what most people think a family plan gives them: your own Gmail keeps its history, its subscriptions and its playlists, and Premium gets added on top. The difference is that no Google family group is created, so there is no manager, no 30-day household check, and no 12-month lock stopping you from doing something else later.
How the redeem activation works, step by step
The two 3-month listings use YouTube's redeem page, and the product description is blunt about the one requirement people miss:
- Your account needs a payment method on file before activation. This is YouTube's rule, not ours.
- Open youtube.com/redeem while signed in to the Google account you want Premium on.
- Paste the code you received and confirm.
- Check the account: the Premium badge should appear, ads should stop, and background play should keep going when you lock the screen.
One more honest caveat straight from the listing: these are trial-linked codes, so they only work on accounts that have not had an active or previous Premium plan. If your Gmail already had Premium at some point, the code will not apply — use the ready-account listing instead, or ask support before paying.
Which one should you pick
- You live with the people you want to share with — buy the real family plan from YouTube. It is not our product, and it is the right answer.
- You want Premium on your own Gmail without a card, for a quarter — the $3 three-month listing, if your account has never had Premium.
- You want it today on your own Gmail and never had Premium — the $3.79 three-month listing.
- You do not care whose account it is, you just want ad-free YouTube on the TV tonight — the $2.95 ready account.
Buying the ready account for a personal Gmail you actually use is the one mistake worth calling out: that login is not yours, the seller keeps access, and tying your channel or your Google Pay to it is a bad trade for $2.95.
Quick answers
Can two people in different cities share one family plan?
Not legitimately. The requirement is the same residential address as the manager, and YouTube checks it. Two different cities will fail the check unless something about the profiles genuinely matches, and the result is a paused membership.
Can I join a family plan if my friend is the manager?
Only if you live in his household, and only if you have not switched family groups in the last 12 months. Once you join and later leave, you cannot join a different family group for a year.
Does buying from us create a family group on my account?
No. The redeem listings add Premium to the account you already use; the ready-account listing is a separate account. Neither touches your Google family settings, so nothing about the 12-month switching limit applies to you.
