Warranty on Digital Accounts: What 1 Day, 7 Days, 30 Days and 'No Warranty' Mean
Bite Store · 2026-10-27
Warranty length is the real price difference between two identical-looking listings. Here is what each window covers, and the three things that void it.
Two listings, same product, one says "30D full warranty", the other says "no warranty". The difference is not marketing, it is what happens on the bad day. Worth ten minutes before you spend ten dollars.
What the windows mean
No warranty. You get the product. If it dies tomorrow, that is your loss. This is genuinely fine for short, low-stakes use — a weekly CapCut for one project, a cheap non-warranty ChatGPT for a weekend.
24 hours. Covers delivery itself: dead on arrival, wrong account, wrong plan. It does not cover a failure three weeks later.
7 days. A working week of cover. Common on VPN and short-licence products, where the risk window is short anyway.
15 to 30 days. The full-month products. This is the sensible choice for anything you rely on for work, because the failure you actually care about happens in week three, not hour one.
What the warranty covers
- The subscription stops working, or access is revoked, inside the window
- The product delivered is not what the listing said
- The licence ends earlier than advertised
What voids it, in three lines
You changed the credentials in a way that broke the arrangement. Changing a password on an account that is not yours, or adding your own recovery email, is the fastest way to lose access and the claim with it.
You violated the platform's rules. Five devices in three cities, API keys shared with strangers, reselling something you bought for personal use. If the platform suspends the account, that is not a product defect.
You asked after the window closed. A 7-day warranty claimed on day 12 is not a warranty claim, and pretending otherwise only wastes both our time.
The order of operations, always
Fix first. A lot of "dead" accounts are a logout, a region issue or a plan that is still attached. We check, and often the answer is a two-minute fix on your side.
Then replace. If it cannot be fixed, we hand you a working one.
Then refund. Only if neither works. Full amount, to your wallet — not pro-rated, not minus a fee. If you paid $10.51 and it fails on day 12 of 30, you get $10.51 back.
How to make a claim that gets solved in one message
Order number, the account email, a screenshot of the error, and the date you last used it successfully. That is all four things support actually needs. Requests missing two of them take a day longer, every time.
The full text is on the refund and warranty page. It is not long, and reading it before you buy is the difference between a fair expectation and a bad evening.
Two real cases, side by side
Case one: a 30-day ChatGPT listing fails on day nine. Support checks, cannot revive it, replaces it the same day. The buyer's total cost is an hour of waiting. Case two: a non-warranty listing at $5 fails on day nine. The buyer's options are to buy again at $5 or accept the loss. Total cost is $10, or $5 and a lost day.
Which is why the warranty question is not about trust in the seller, it is about how much a dead account costs you. If you can shrug, take the cheap shelf. If you cannot, the warranty is what you were always buying.
What we do not cover, said plainly
We do not cover an account the platform suspended because it was used in ways it was not sold for. We do not cover a password change that broke a shared seat. We do not cover a claim filed after the window. That is a short list and it appears on the policy page in the same words, which is the point — a warranty you discover the shape of after a failure is not a warranty.
How a claim actually runs
Three lines are enough: order number, what stopped working, and a screenshot of the message you see. Support checks the listing's warranty window, tries the standard fixes, and then either restores the account, replaces it, or refunds the full amount to your wallet. Most cases finish the same day, and the slow ones are almost always the ones where the buyer sent a paragraph instead of the error text.
File early. A failure reported on day two is easy to trace. The same failure reported on day twenty-eight, on a listing with a seven-day window, is a different conversation no matter how honest everyone is being.
The clearest example on the shelf is the same product twice: ChatGPT Plus at $5 with no warranty and ChatGPT Plus at $10.51 with 30 days full warranty.
